Some of the experiences and patterns that I have noticed during my time of practive are clients having the conotation that I am supposed to "fix" them. I do my best to ensure that I clarify what therapy is and how I work (which is from an evidence-based approach). I also often encounter clients that want a "quick fix" or ones that get too attached and do not want to terminate service when it is time.

If a client were describing their experience from working with me, I'd hope they would say I feel safe, seen, and understood. I would hope that the environment feels warm and collaborative.

I feel that success, achievement, growth, and excellence all come with failure. No one person is perfect and can achieve all the time at all things. It is not humanly possible. In order to achieve and grow, one must fail and understand how to get back up. As it pertains to my work, I believe and encourage flaws and imperfections. It is all in how that person perceives greatness and how it is achieved because it looks different for everyone. I also encourage one's uniqueness as it breeds their definition of excellence, success and even growth.

Some of the costs that people may pay when achievement is disconnected from wellbeing, identity, relationships, recovery or meaning is burnout. One can also experience high stress resulting in physical symptoms and even depression. This will cause achievement to feel more like a chore or burden rather than a reward.

Confidence is attached to character and experiences. I believe that one's confidence is birthed through what they have experienced in life from childhood through adulthood and how they have decided to groom it. Confidence aids character whether that be in a negative or a positive way. I feel that people feel that you can either be born with confidence or it is instilled in you, but I believe both to be true.

I find myself most energized in my work by conversations with couples around marital conflict and conversations with individuals regarding re-discovering themselves or discovering themselves for the first time.
